When I came over to your house you were stuck inside a wall Your life had changed from green to red like leaves on trees in fall There were pieces of your lonely mind scattered all across the floor And the look in your eyes had been long gone as your soul walked out the door You had been a very lucky man, had all that some hold dear But you turned away, locked out the world, all because of your own fear Just wipe the tapes and start again And find yourself another friend You’ve got the walk, you’ve got the talk But won’t break through when you hit a rock Just wipe the tapes and start anew And pretend that nobody loved you So when times are bad you won’t be sad You just won’t know the life you had When I would listen to your words, you would always bleed so open You cut dark things into your heart, and you’d make so many new friends You’d write about the fucked up world, and you told such tragic stories While the ones who loved you glorified the dead future you teased All the people you saw in your life, just killed you by mistake So you never found a reason to be happy when you wake Just wipe the tapes and start again And find yourself another friend You’ve got the walk, you’ve got the talk But won’t break through when you hit a rock Just wipe the tapes and start anew And pretend that nobody loved you So when times are bad you won’t be sad You just won’t know the life you had When I walked up to your hotel room it was hollow, barren and empty There was no trace left of you that day since you left and took a taxi You drove around your old neighborhood and were dropped off at your car Gathering old mementos for a trip that wasn’t very far After parking near an old bridge that was just outside of town You vanished on that winter day, leaving just your written sounds Just wipe the tapes and start again And find yourself another friend You’ve got the walk, you’ve got the talk But won’t break through when you hit a rock Just wipe the tapes and start anew And pretend that nobody loved you So when times are bad you won’t be sad You just won’t know the life you had Oh the legacy you left behind it shone so far and wide So you look down on all of us wishing that you really died

about

My latest single.

"Wipe The Tapes" is a song I started writing in early 2019 and just got around to finishing recently, as for the past year it felt like there was something missing, which I eventually realized was a coda. And thus, the song was complete. Lyrically it's a very dark song, telling the tale of someone gone from this earth long before their time.

"This Is Yesterday" is a cover of the Manic Street Preachers song, which is a song I absolutely love. I find it to be one of the most emotional songs ever written, and I hope that my cover can at least give some people the same feeling that the original gives me. My cover is interesting in that it's the first solo song I've ever recorded to not feature any piano at all.
