You’ve got the world right where you want it You’ve got the world in the palm of your hand So why at the top are you so lonely And where in the sky is your man And when the day is over and done Tell me where your head is hung Are you straight or maybe blind? Are you evil or just unkind? Where do you want the world You say all these things, but you’re just bluffing You may rise but you’ll one day fall And all of a sudden you’re angry at nothing You spit fire and rain down on us all You want to speak your mind out loud Yet hold your tongue, hide in your cloud Is it you and your beating heart? Or will you tear your friends apart? Where do you want the world Does anybody love you, or is it just compassion? Why do you continue doing things in this fashion? Do you have a purpose? Any ambitions at all? Love isn’t all there is, if you’re a slave to it you’ll fall You’ve got the world right where you want it You’ve got the world in the palm of your hands You sealed them out, and you locked the door shut And now it’s just you without them So now the day is over and done Where do you fall on the ladder’s rungs? Why do you hide behind your walls? Why don’t you come when someone calls? Where do you want the world

I was born in a small town I never went to school I never left my house And I really was a fool My father was a working man But he never had a frown I was content with what I had I let nothing bring me down I never slept by a fireplace Never knew where or when But I knew that once I left I'd always come home again So here I go I'm in another class all my own I never lived by a river I was alone So here I go I’m in another class all my own And I can show you the way to go, to go home When I lived back at home I had so many things I was trained from a young age But I never learned to sing Yet here I am at long last I'm on the path to start anew I gotta sit in another class But I’ll do it if it’s with you I never slept by a fireplace Never knew where or when But I knew that once I left I'd always come home again So here I go I'm in another class all my own I never lived by a river I was alone So here I go I’m in another class all my own And I can show you the way to go, to go home So here I go I'm in another class all my own I never lived by a river I was alone So here I go I’m in another class all my own And I can show you the way to go, to go home

Three Pigs 04:30
Brother Pork has built his house, made out of stone And Brother Hog, his house is made of sticks and sticks alone And Brother Swine, oh look at him, his house is made of straw that’s thin But will any of them stand up to the big bad wolf? From his house up in the hills the wolf could see all of the land He hated all the worth of it and all of its demands So he took up arms and he went to work, stripping his bones and stripping his shirt Then he huffed and he puffed and blew on into town Three little pigs Three little pigs Coddled inside their houses Made of straw and sticks and stone They worked their fingers to the bone Unaware of all that could be done When the wolf came into town, Brother Hog was not prepared So he painted blood upon his door, he spread the red coat there But the wolf broke in and thrashed around, tearing the house down to the ground Then he ate Brother Hog and moved onto the next Two little pigs Two little pigs Coddled inside their houses Made of straw and even stone They worked their fingers to the bone Unaware of all that could be done Brother Swine was told when he was young, that straw was the best there is He never even questioned it, he didn’t think it could be shit When the wolf showed up and blew it away, and killed Brother Swine and ruined his day He realized that maybe he fucked up One little pig One little pig Sleeping safe inside his own house Made of strong and sturdy stone He worked his fingers to the bone Unaware of all that could be done Brother Pork had built his house that was made out of stone And because of all its sturdiness, he stood his ground alone The wolf had tried to bring him down, but he couldn’t get in, and he couldn’t get around So he left and then killed everyone else in town One little pig One little pig All alone against the world Sure he survived a wolf attack But now his life is tinted black ‘Cuz he was unaware of all that could be done

Nobody knows How my hate grows My color green Is all they see And what they say Is to live today But what if your times Are my demise Times are tough I know it’s true And right now it’s just me and you I know you don’t think high of me But don’t judge yet just wait and see I’ll wear my coat of a different color And maybe then you’ll trust me To be the one who leads you into custody And if you ever get the feeling That I’m not what I used to be wait your turn you’ll get to try and Maybe then people will die I’ve gone down town I’ve made the rounds I’ve put up signs I’ve boasted crimes You think I’m dead Deranged and bled You may be right But time is tight What can you do when he’s no better What can you do without writing a letter The day is fast approaching dear If your answer’s not correct this year I’ll wear my coat of a different color And maybe then you’ll trust me To be the one who leads you into custody And if you ever get the feeling That I’m not what I used to be wait your turn you’ll get to try and maybe then people will die Break us down Please don’t drown Things must change I’m not deranged Deranged And now you’ve done it You’ve gone and spun it You’re just a fool And I’m your tool You say you’re gone Things are all wrong And I’m the leader Since my coat’s greener You wished for change and revolution But all I am is an evolution I may look kind make no mistake But you’re still talking to a snake I’ll wear my coat of a different color And maybe then you’ll trust me To be the one who leads you into custody And if you ever get the feeling That I’m not what I used to be wait your turn you’ll get to try and maybe then they’ll all ask why

Tree Of Ages 02:59
I went to see my old neighborhood It wasn’t far from my town And everything was different There were changes all around The grass was no longer green And the leaves were sickly and brown And that little tree of ages Had been torn out of the ground As I drove around the neighborhood I saw the houses rot away I was listening to an album The songs were drab and grey My neighbors had moved on from here Not even their homes had stayed And that little tree of ages Had been gone for many days My house had been converted To an empty office space The pool and park that once had boomed Were gone without a trace And the church I used to go to Had been turned into a pile As I took in all that I could see The tears flowed for a while As I drove away from the neighborhood I reflected on what I’d seen I wondered what had happened For cones to line the streets When I was much much younger My life was a happy scene And that little tree of ages Still blossomed bright and green

about

My debut debut EP, featuring demos of five original songs.
Keep in mind that all of these are demos and not fully produced recordings. They're just a man and his piano (and his kazoo occasionally).

My songs are heavily influenced by singer-songwriters such as Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Graham Parker, Elvis Costello and Bruce Springsteen, and musically they showcase a piano-driven pop rock sound reminscent of Elton John, Billy Joel and Joe Jackson.

This EP was originally released as "The Demo EP" and featured a cover of Joe Jackson's song "The Other Me", but that has since been replaced with "Tree of Ages", an original. The Joe Jackson cover is now available on my cover album "Got You Covered".
